Craigslist score!!
Guy had a 1971 lwb for sale and in the add it said NEW Edelbrock 1405 carb. and NEW Edelbrock Performer intake and New Edelbrock chrome Air cleaner and NEW 3 speed shifter.
Well I drove 70 miles to check out the truck, was needing a 5lug carrier and some good doors and a 5 lug rearend. Well when the guy walks me into his lil shop I see a 68 front end and I ask him where is the 71? He says this is the 71! Someone had swapped out the vin tag and gave the guy a 71 title! The doors were rusted out alone with about everything else. I told him what had been done and that it was a federal offense and he should call up the PO and inform him that he was going to the police if he did'nt give him his money back! The guy was so pissed and I could'nt blame him but if you dont know then you just dont know! So while he was ranting about what he was gonna do. O and by the way the motor didnt run and he said it was knocking like crazy! He said that he wasted his money on the NEW parts and didnt have any recipts or the boxes for the parts! I ask him if he would like to sell the NEW parts and he said yes and what would I give for them and I with out hesitating said I'll give you $200.00 bucks! He said pay me and its all yours! I could'nt get the money out of my pocket fast enough! Since then he contacted the PO and threaten to go to the LAW if he didn t get his money back and the PO has bought the truck back. And my son has a nice intake and carb. for his stock 350 in his 69 swb. Who says you cant get a deal on craigslist.................. Oyeah the guy wanted $1000.00 for the truck at 1st. Should I feel bad about this??? lol,lol

Re: Craigslist score!!
Frenchblue72, i agree, People are trying to score no matter what these days.
Around here the folks i deal with still deal on a handshake. It's only a good score if both parties agree with the outcome.(you had something you wanted gone, and i wanted/needed it at a fair price) we can't get over on the other guy and then see him tomorrow and say "man, i really got you good yesterday" . That's craiglist/scammer crap.

Re: Craigslist score!!
Same thing happened up here, guy listed a 72 chevy shortbed and said it was running, went to see it and first, the vin was missing, the vin in the glove box was destroyed, then the title said 72, but the truck said 69-70. The kicker was the driveshaft was broken and the trailing arm was broke in half from rust. But the add said it was driveable. I laughed at it, told the guy he should get his money back from the PO frauding him....
