Ever had this problem

I have installed the 78 chevy truck front end under my 62 C-10. While backing up it grabs, like it would if I had a 4X4 truck engaged. It is a 2wd, seems strange for it to do this. I will have to have a buddy over to back it up while i hold on under it on the creeper. Just thought I would rattle your brains to see if you have had this problem, and what to look for. I crawled under it this last weekend and put a wrench on everything that I could, some stuff was a little on the loose side, but still dident make a difference.

Have you checked your calipers yet to see if they are loose and sticking, maybe you can tell us more about the "grab"??

Are the wheels toed in too much, this would cause it to "grab" while backing up...
throw a tape measure inside to inside front and back and see if you get the same measurement, or if they are closer in the front than the back.

I will check both, I just had the front end aligned after I installed everything, but that doesn’t mean that they didn’t do the job correctly, the calipers if taped with a hammer while I was under the truck, I didn’t grab an alien wrench and checked though. Thanks guys

Did you relocate your upper shock brackets? They need to move back several inches to line up correctly with the later control arms. If not, they may be binding.

Well I figured out the culprit, it was the idler arm, it has loosened up, when I went to tighten it up I realized it was pulling the frame together, I guess I will have to make a backer plate for it.
