vin tags
Having trouble finding a vendor that sells the tin plates for the vin number for 67-72 trucks. I had my truck at the body shop and they sent the cab off to get sandblasted without taking the tins off. Now the tags are ruined and I need to replace them. I was informed that there are vendors out there that sell the tins but that I would have to get them stamped because they come blank.

Re: vin tags
I wonder how they are getting by with this?
It is totally illegal to even remove or otherwise tamper with one of these tags, so how can they be making replacements?

Yea no kidding....its against the law to even be in posession of the rosette rivets...I never seen anyone repro VIN tags....Though I did notice on this site they never mention VIN tags.....Repro Cowl tags, fender tags and such are not illegal in most states....except Oklahoma. I think the original poster is going to need to get a state issued VIN....Thats too bad!..... RM
