Best spraypaint to panit alt. brackets/pulls etc?

I have my alternator brackets some pullys etc etc.

I have some bedliner stuff left over. Should I paint my brackets with those? How hot will it get? And what kind of paint (rattlecan ) Should I paint my pulls etc. with?

thank you!

Re: Best spraypaint to panit alt. brackets/pulls etc?

whata bout 'colorplace' enamel in gloss black? Will it hold up to 300* in the oven? Do I need to put a primer on it? If so what kind? I have some etching primer and just cheap 'colorplace' primer

Re: Best spraypaint to panit alt. brackets/pulls etc?

If It's White or Black I found Appliance paint works well. It's an epoxy and I don't believe primer is required

Or, even BBQ paint.

You should be ok with the bedliner though but if you gotta buy the paint why not engine paint.

Re: Best spraypaint to panit alt. brackets/pulls etc?

I had some Rustoleum bedliner lating around and shot all my stuff for my SB for my Jeep Cherokee with it I think it looks really nice...

I also used it to paint the valve cover on my Honda and it's holding up great no issues.

It hold up amazing. Very oil resistant and scratch proof. I lines the side of my jeep with it and haven't broken through. And my Honda is used in Solo Racing and haven't had any issues with it.

the motor is a 69 327, Had it rebuilt a few years back Mostly stock aside from being blueprinted and balanced, and a mild cam. mostly head work SS Valves, better springs And what not. running about 350/325

I use Krylon semi flat, that is the closest to factory color and I have never had a problem with it burning on brackets and pulleys

Re: Best spraypaint to panit alt. brackets/pulls etc?

i wouldnt use bedliner on valvecovers it would tend to keep the heat in i'd think. you're better off with something that allows heat to come off the valvecovers as they do aid in slightly cooling your oil

The stuff I used is essentially just spray paint with sand in it...
