help with clutch assembly

ok i am needing some help here on my clutch set up here are some pics of the way the shop put this on and messed it up they did not use the bolts made for the clutch and welded it to the frame and messed the thing with the ears on it all up from cutting and welding i was needing help to find parts to replace this with the 350 parts and get my clutch working right this has lasted about 4 hours of clutch use and has bent and broke any info and help would be appreciated thanks james

So at the very least, you are needing a cross shaft (Z-bar), a frame bracket and an engine bracket. Not sure if your pushrods are usable or not. What year is the truck, and was it converted from an automatic or was it a factory stick?

its factory 3 on the column and the push rods are good just need the cross shaft and the brackets i have an lmc book but has everything but the cross bar any info on where i can get one

pay the 25 dollars for a membership and post a wtb in the classified someone bound to have one over there. try a vendor like gmc paul or teeitup or pickumup << not sure that is spelled right one of them will have something to make it work right

I don't quiet fully understand this. I presume your clutch setup was all factory and in working order when you brought it into the shop for a clutch job?

The z-bar to frame mounting looks right, still rivited right? which makes me wonder: did they foobar the engine side of the z-bar mounting and have to fabricate and weld a "fix" in there while doing a poor job -- and is that what the 2nd picture is of?

Those z-bars are pretty tough stuff. About the only thing that wears are the holes where the push rods connect. In each end are ball studs so you can run it with the angles you have; but sounds like maybe the push rods then bind.

I would check that the z-bar mounting on the engine block is not flipped backwards giving causing the ball stud to be to far forward/backwards.

I just don't get what they would have to fabricate in there.... or why.
