tach differences
Does anyone know if there is any difference in 6 & 8 cylinder original tachs? Someone told me once that you can make them work on either.
Thanks |

I don't know about your tach question, but it's good to see another South Dakota member on the board. There's not a whole lot of us. Just wanted to say hi and welcome to the board.

6 or 8
As far as i know they are not interchangeable. The readings will be inaccurate. If there is a way to change them over, i am not aware of it.

The 6 cylinder tachs can be calibrated to work on 8 cylinder engines. If you look on the back, there is a taped up hole for calibration. Just hook the tach to an engine along with a known tach for comparison and adjust it at various rpm's.
