Re: Rodents
HAHAHAHA!
But seriously... I live on an Island and the rats and mice are horrible. I went down to the local farmers supply store (Cenex) and bought some bait boxes, and a product called "Just one Bite". Kills mice in 12 hours and rats in 24... works like a charm, and the bait boxes keep other critters from getting poisoned. Gary

Re: Rodents
Bait under the seat for the ones in the cab, keep the hood up for the ones wanting to chew on your wires and vacuum lines. For some reason they don't like it when the hood is up.

Re: Rodents
I work in pest control, get your house treated for mice. Bait in your truck would be bad if one died in the cab, under the seat or something. There's a thing called glueboards that live trap mice, their feet stick to it. That will take care of all the bugs you have as well as mice.

Re: Rodents
I try to keep the mice killed off. In addition to cats and bait boxes in the buildings I use mice traps on occasion.
Since I put 1/4" mesh wire under all of the truck cowl screens I have not had one mouse in any of the trucks. Jim

Long story short I found that Fresh Cab stuff in the link above at the local Fleet Farm and hung some where the critters like to go. As near as I can tell it is keeping them away. It worked the rest of last winter and up until now. Oh and it doesn't smell so bad to me that I wouldn't drive the vehicle it was in unlike moth balls or similar, smelly products.

Re: Rodents
Yep, that is what I use in my vehicles I don't drive often and it seems to work.
It is kind of hard to get use to the smell, though. Also we now have an outside cat so that might also help. The cat is rough on rodents, he keeps dragging dead baby moles up on the back porch.

Re: Rodents
I have a rodent problem at my house in France. I use a poison called Souris-cide (souris being French for mouse!) and also emply a n umber of Petit and Grand Lucifer traps.
This is a Grand Lucifer and an inquisitve Fat Dormouse who had been living in my roof, I use apple for the big ones as Fat Dormice eat fruit and peanut butter for the mice.. ![]()

Re: Rodents
This is what I did last fall:
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=370267 I did not have a single mouse or chipmunk in the engine compartment, I used soap peppermint extract and dryer sheets inside the cab and also put dryer sheets in the exhaust pipes too. |

Re: Rodents
Bounce fryer sheets or irish spring soap bars will repel mice and dont stick thinks up like moth balls etc. I place them in the holes of the hood and in the cab, no mice.

Re: Rodents
we bought a 66 mustang that we are going to restore when i get my truck done.. and it was sittin in a barn/car port for years so we knew that there was something in there so the car had a small bear trap in the trunk we found.. put peanut butter on it and about an hour later we had this caught.. it was still alive so we beat it to death with a screw driver

Re: Rodents
When we bought our house it had been vacant for an extended period of time. They had "winterized" the toilets with antifreeze. I turned the water on and flushed the commodes. One was running slow. I ended up fishing 20 some "pickled" mice out of the trap.
