csb 350 head swap?
Im in the middle of rebuilding a 1976 chevy K10 flatbed. It has a sb 350 and i have most of the internals done, but i got a great deal on a edelbrock set up with twin 4bbl at 500cfm each. now that i have that intake set up i know i will need some new heads, but since i have never swapped heads from different engines i dont know what heads i should get. i saw some LS1s for a late model csb 350, would those work? and would that be enough?......if not what heads should i get and what would be the best set up for the price?

If you plan on using this '76 K10 at all as a truck is intended, don't bother with that dual 4 intake. Just stick with a single 600cfm carb, you will be much happier. And no, heads from a LS1 will not fit a Gen I small block.....totally different.

captain fab said it LS1 heads wont work on gen 1 motor and dual 4s are not going to be a good thing for the flat bed truck I would look at some vortech heads although you'll need a differant intake but they would give that truck some grunt thats my 2cents

if its work truck the two 4's are super bad idea.The heads need to be smaller port size with 5 angle valve job and mild port clean up. Vortecs would be good but differant intake then regular sbc. IMO take factroy heads to shop get valve job and do some port work(its cheap hp just go conservative) a good dual plane intake and single 600 to 750 carb.probaly a 600 will be fine. Add good exhast and your home. Great sounding truck and plenty of grunt for work.

I agree the last thing you want is dual carbs on a daily or even semi regularly driven vehicle especially if you dont have experience tuning them. A stock-ish 350 doesnt need anywhere near 1000cfm and your likely going to hurt performance by having the dual carbs on a street small block
