Tie rod help.

Removed the old tie rods several months ago, without thinking scrapped them a awhile back. Now installing new tie rods and sleeves, can someone give me some guidance in how to get alignment back close?
Thanks

Re: Tie rod help.

Once installed (leave the adjustment sleeve bolts loose), pull a tape measure across the front and rear of the front tires and adjust both sides until they are equal, while making sure the steering wheel stays centered (easiest way to do this is to put someone inside the truck to hold it). You will have to re-check the measurement each time you adjust, but once you get a feel for which way to adjust the sleeve, it won't take too long. Once it's close, take it to the local alignment shop so they can set it properly though.

Hope this helps,

Ed
