2005 Tahoe Autoride Suspension question
I have a 05 Tahoe that has the Z55 option (autoride suspension). The shocks are still in good shape and do not need replaced yet. My question is can I replace these shocks (air) with regular gas shocks? If so what do I need to do to not get error codes or the air pump to run thinking it needs to fill up the shock.
I can not see to pay $300 per shock when I can get some really good shocks for $80. Thanks

Re: 2005 Tahoe Autoride Suspension question
Not sure if it will activate the warning light or not. You don't have to disconnect the sensor to install aftermarket shocks. Ask your Dealer to be sure.

Re: 2005 Tahoe Autoride Suspension question
I've got some similar questions. Can anyone help out with the following?
1) The truck is an '03 Yukon Denali 2) I'm under the impression that there are two different options on this truck. First the airbag rear shocks (Z55?) and second, some electronically controlled shock absorbers (Option Code?). I'd like to identify what exactly is on my truck, is anyone aware of the various suspension option codes? My front shocks are shot and I was about to replace them when I noticed an electrical connection off the top of each front shock. Assuming I can't just replace these with standard shocks or I'll end up with error codes. Any help would be appreciated!

Re: 2005 Tahoe Autoride Suspension question
exactly what I am up against !!!
there is some sort of conversion that struts something makes. Not that this thread has much action but I found out you can not replace them with out a conversion or a chip reflash. I am probably going to have a chip made and get a little more out of the Tahoe its about the same price as the conversion plus some nice gas shocks.
