Burb guys please look... is this a 40 gallon tank?

Judging from the size of it, I am guessing it is a 40 gallon tank. But I wanted to check with the experts. It takes up the full space front to rear between the crossmembers. And the front of it is hanging a little lower than it would if the straps were in place.

If need be, I can take some measurements.

Thanks.

Well I thought about putting it in Fred at some point, but I think it's gonna be too long front to rear. I've heard that the 40's won't fit in a SWB, and I was too sore from yesterdays workout to crawl under Fred to measure it.

Cool, thanks guys. I'll probably store it for now and use it for my 70 K10's LS engine swap.

Re: Burb guys please look... is this a 40 gallon tank?

Does anyone know if these fit in a LWB? I've been toying with replacing the dual 16s that came on my long bed (not sure why it doesn't have 20s...but it doesn't), with one of these 40s. It would also help simplify the plumbing when I do my 6.0L swap.

Have been told the 40 gallon will work in the LWB. Was tempted to do it, but since neither of my saddle tanks is giving me issues, I just can not justify it.

Re: Burb guys please look... is this a 40 gallon tank?

I'm hoping it will fit in my 70 K10 LWB when I put a 4.8 or 5.3 in it. I'm sure I can make it fit.

Re: Burb guys please look... is this a 40 gallon tank?

If you get a chance to measure the tank, can you post up the dimensions? I want to compare them to the dimensions Rockauto has on the 40gal tank. Then I'm going to town measuring my truck. It's already missing the spare tire carrier, so that makes putting it in a little easier. Just need to see how I would route the fuel filler hose.
