Re: "The Yellow Truck"

I'm currently finishing up the motor, stripped a thread and helicoiled the head where in the intake bolts into. Waiting on a backordered polished cover from Jegs for 3 months now. Motor is factory bore, LS6 rotating assy, chevy aluminum high po heads polished on the outside, edlebrock RPM air gap manifold ceramic coated by Jet Hot here in Tempe inside and out, dizzy is from DUI distributors and tuned for this truck, cam and acc are all roller

Re: "The Yellow Truck"

Not even sure i would call it a conversion as much as just all brand new parts. The dropmember accepts a range of arms and I chose the 73-87 year from air ride tech. The spindles are 2.5 drop from Western Chassis and the disks are from a factory 75 Chevy truck backrobbed from a junk yard. The disks were chromed and turned along with new bearing and seals. The bags in the front are slam specialties for an extra inch and minimal ballooning.

Re: "The Yellow Truck"

Thanks guys, next steps are clear coating the bell housing, transmission, and rack and pinion, figure out my Z bar situation, and I got some patriot clippsters on the way. I got uncoated ones in case I need to bang on them a little.

Re: "The Yellow Truck"

Patriots are here, hope to get them mocked up today. Here's some pics of the headers. Either going to use a stud pivot for the bell crank or modify a small block piece. Depends on where the headers allow me to place it.

Re: "The Yellow Truck"

Because of the location of the headers, I will have to move the bell crank closer to the cab and create a new receiver for the bell crank and some custom linkage.

Got some stuff chromed, setting up the trans and bell housing for clear coat, and setting up the rear brakes

No, the chrome shop coats it with something to keep the chrome from sticking. They didn't do it to the front rotors so I simply had them turned at checker to revel the pad contact area.

Re: "The Yellow Truck"

Clear coating is done using POR 15's products.

Re: "The Yellow Truck"

Very nice! Is the trans and bell housing just polished and cleared? Or chrome plated? This will be a sweet looking ride for sure!
