Transmission Leak

My 71 fleetside has developed a nasty transmission leak. It is coming from the front by the bell housing. I have replaced the front seal but maybe it was defective? I'm guessing its the "pump" seal? Is this hard to replace any tips or tricks I need to know about? And since the tranny will be out is there anything else I should do?

Re: Transmission Leak

Check the bushing under the seal, in the pump and the converter neck for wear. Also look carefully at the new seal, I have gotten some questionable quality aftermarket seals, GM or trans shop seals are your best bet.
