20x12 Wheels
Well I think I'm gonna pull the trigger. I've been looking for some nice 20" rims for a while now and I think I've found them. They're 20x12 Fuel Hostage's in chrome. I'm debating on keeping with the 6" and running 35's or going to an 8" and running 37's, what do you guys think? My truck will be a Tangerine Pearl soon I hope and the rims aren't getting mounted until she's painted.
![]() Here's the rims- ![]() After seeing the '72 in Truckin' mag I fell in love and have been trying to build mine similar ever since. It just so happened the seats in the truck are from a new GTO and I found some new GTO seats in a local for sale ad. ![]() Here's how she sits now with the exception of different tires- ![]() I'm working on a photoshop right now. Will post it when it's done for an idea of what it should look like.

Re: 20x12 Wheels
I used another members truck because it's in the orange family which should be a better representative of what it will look like with a Tangerine Pearl. I'm no photoshop professional but this is what it should look like with a 35" tire.

Re: 20x12 Wheels
I like the brown but I want something that's going to "pop" at the car shows. I'm going with House of Kolor Tangerine Pearl. I'm also trying to think up something to add to the paint to give it a one off look. I was thinking something ghosted with a slightly different shade of orange but can't think of anything that would look good. Any ideas?

Re: 20x12 Wheels
NICE wheel....the photoshop truckLooks awesome! I am running my 37" Toyo MTs on my 22x12 Weld Cheyenne 8s when my Truck is done. I love the bigger wheels on these rigs I think they look great on em. Look foward to seeing your truck when its done.

Re: 20x12 Wheels
House of Kolor would be a good choice for the tangerine pearl against your chrome rims. At the request of my painter buddy I was considering going with a brighter and more exotic color but I haven't found a color I am more comfortable with than a satin black, pearl silver or classic blue - yet.
Although his avatar freaks me out I agree with West Texas Z, and SWB4x4 . In my opinion those 22 inch rims would look better on 37"+ tires. |

Re: 20x12 Wheels
Those are 20" rims not 22". Thanks for all the reply's guys, I'm glad some other people like it as well because my dad seems to hate the idea, lol. I think it's going to look killer when I'm done. Ever since I saw this truck I've been wanting to a similar "sister" type truck. I wish Weld wheels wouldn't have gone out of business, I would love to pick up a set of Cheyenne 6 or 8's in 20x12.

Re: 20x12 Wheels
I am in the same boat. I can't tell you how many times I have searched craigslist and ebay looking for some weld cheyenne or dune rims. After flirting with the idea of RBP 91r 20X12 rims I've since settled on the black powder coated KMC Diesel XD 20x10" rims.

Re: 20x12 Wheels
I know a few people with them, I just need to get one of them to sell. I just offered a guy on this site $2800 for his set of 20x12's and he turned it down.

Re: 20x12 Wheels
i ablsoultely loved my 38's.. i love my 37/s i have now. but i DO NOT love the price tag...
its 400 plus a tire. ridiculous. 35's are noticeably cheaper

Re: 20x12 Wheels
I've got a set of Cheyenne 8's in the garage. They're 20x12's. Mounted wheels on two for mock up. I've considered selling them, but they sure look good, and I need some high dollar disc for my build. So I could possibly be persuaded.

Re: 20x12 Wheels
Doubt you'll find too many potential 8 lug buyers in a Chevy truck forum. If they were forged aluminum Cheyenne 6's I'd be extremely interested.

Re: 20x12 Wheels
I run the larger tire/rim combos than most, so the 3/4ton or 1ton running gear is a must. I'm currently collecting the parts to change my 72 GMC from 2wd to 4wd. Picked up a set of Rockwell axles for it and plan on converting it to 8 lug hubs. I've got the Cheyenne 8's with 46" goodyears or a set of Typhoons with 46" claws. Just have not made up my mind yet on which ones I'll run.
