floor shift knob??

k. me n the pops went to pomona CA over the weekend for the swapmeet and car show. found an OG steering wheel 4 $60, i thought that was an amazing deal. but thats not what this thread is about. i bought a shifter knob from the "truck shop". i have a 72 v8 350, 3 on the floor. the knob i was sold doesnt fit on the floor shifter???? i didnt see a different shift knob for my year so i assumed they wer the same size. is ther another knob 4 a floor shift????

Sounds like you have an aftermarket shifter. Find out who made it and contact them.

Three speeds were all column shift from the factory. Someone added the floor shifter to yours later on.

A lot of those aftermarket shift knobs were universal fit .... which means they didn't fit everything! They often came with a variety of adapter sleeves ... good luck finding one.

measure theads on shifter// get one that fits those threads// get cue ball drill and tap proper threads

If the hole in the knob is to small drill and re tap, if the hole in the knob is to big find a adapter or heli coil if its close

paint the shifter with never sieze fill the shift knob with JB weld and screw it on the next day or when you need to it will just unscrew!!
