how much is this gonna cost me?

I know this is a hit and miss question, and i've been out of the loop for a while now, if i was wanting to buy a no motor no trans, decent body (normal, not excessive rust) short bed any year, what would i be looking at $$ wise? not much out there in my area right now, and i'm wanting to make a daily driver/sleeper truck, ls motor, 4/6 drop and leave the exterior alone... just do all the creature comforts... but i'm getting ahead of myself here....

what would i be looking at for the initial cost of truck?

1000-3000 your best bet is to find a nice lwb and a swb frame then find a nice bed

I don't know which part of Texas you are in. I just drove from Odessa to Houston two weeks ago. We took Route 36 shortcut instead of following the interstate. Old trucks everywhere. The one that got my attention was a dusty 67 stepper for $500 on the side of the road in Cross Plains. Looked like rust was mostly just patina, plus it had all of the mandatory farm truck door dents. The for sale sign was faded, so it was there for a while.

Re: how much is this gonna cost me?

I don't have a number. Only thing I remember is that it was across the street from a place called Village Market and a Restaurant called Jean's Feed Barn

Re: how much is this gonna cost me?

I am not having much luck finding what I'm looking for either. 71-72 3/4 ton four wheel drive with a standard. Posted in wtb adds, but no response. I'm not looking for a finished truck, just a project/driver.
