rear drum to disc conversion kit.
I want to convert drums to disc in the rear. I hace seen brackets kits sold on ebay that say to use a lincoln 77 rear rotor and a camaro 82-92 caliper. Has anyone done this??? If so let me know what you think!!

I got the 1979 Seville rear disc brake set up to install on my truck Rotors are 5x5. Hoping for the best.

To update all!! I just bought brackets from a seller at e bay. I put them on to see if they would fit and well they did BUT. I had to have my axle flanges turned down a 1/4" for the rear rotors to go on. I used a rear disc brake rotor 5x5 from a 1977 lincoln continental. You can use a front caliper for a 82-92 camaro rs without the 1LE brake package. I paid $30 to have my axles turned down and now everythingfits great. I gave $90 for the brackets and $30 a piece for the new calipers. Then I bought a performance slotted rotor from pureperformance.com for $90 each. I have a total of $330-$350 into my conversion and they are going to look great. For the brackets call Steeltech Solutions at 618-997-4238.

Don't forget to change out that old master cylinder for the four wheel disc version as well.

Was on GMC Pauls site yesterday.
One of his new items was the rear disc brake kit for 5 or 6 lug trucks with the 10-12 bolt.......... item 149693 5 lug rear 149694 6 lug rear

Brake kits for EVERYTHING
There is a small place south of Denver that makes VERY nice kits. They are not much money. They can help guide you the least expensive way to go. You can get the kit in any stage so you can round up your own rotors & calipers if you want. I have dealt with them alot & they are GREAT! how did (if at all) did this kit change wheel backspacing-related measurements? also does this setup have a parking brake or allow for one to be installed later? thanks

You can install rear calipers from a caddy but they are not cheap. They come with a built in parking brake as do rear camaro calipers. I did not use one as my truck is not a daily driver. As far as back spacing is concerned it did not change a 1/4 inch if at all. I am ordering wheels and they will be made to specs from this setup. Thanks

as I remember the TSM kit changes the offset by 1/8". You have the option of using calipers like you have on the front of your truck or I think Toranado E-Brake calipers. E-Brake calipers are about 4 times as much as non e-brake calipers. Buy "loaded" calipers from Autozone or NAPA & they come with ALL pins, pads, seals that you need.
