Printed Circuit Panel for gauges...

my gauges are doing all sorts of funny things. so i double checked the ground, and the fuses. i stuck my hand under the dash and wiggled the main wiring harness into the gauge cluster and everything went back to normal....for a second. i looked under the dash at the connection with a flashlight and it seems the little tabs on the printed circuit that touch the connectors on the wiring harness (sorry, kinda hard to explain) are loose and stay in place when the wiring harness is connected into place....i can try to take a picture if i can get a camera up under there. anyway, i need to know if i can repair the one i have, or can i buy a new one somewhere?

btw, this isn't the first time this particular connection has given me grief

LMC has it for a bit cheaper.

Re: Printed Circuit Panel for gauges...

honestly, i'd rather pay a bit more than buy from lmc again. about 95% of the parts i've ordered from them don't fit or don't work...

i think i'm going to try and tack the little tabs down with a dab of super glue or something as a temporary fix...

Re: Printed Circuit Panel for gauges...

you can try soldering a jumper wire to the copper. Just make sure to dab some silicone over the wire, I am pretty sure it doesn't conduct electricity. Trevor

Re: Printed Circuit Panel for gauges...

I got one in the junkyard for my 87 for like $2. You just have to be SUPER sure it is exactly the same as the one you have now or u might let the smoke out.

Be careful in the junkyard trucks though... I just about got a hospital stay last Saturday... I wanted an ac duct from under this dash so i stuck my head in there and saw 2 wasps sitting on the part i wanted. so i went around to the drivers side and snatched out the dash-pad and ran and looked back and saw a Dark cloud in and on that truck. there were hundreds of em in that dash! I'm highly allergic too, but i didn't get stung. that parts still there as i don't need it that badly...lol
