Pics of Suburbans with Caddy Tail Lights

Well I have wanted to do this mod for awhile. Taking the slim skinny caddy tail lights and molding them into the back of the suburban. I thought someone said they had done this to a suburban. Does anyone have any pics of it? How hard is it or was it to do?

Don't know if you've seen the inserts I make. For stock lenses that mimic the new Caddy cars.

Brake mode I've seen the real ones installed on a couple Subs and trucks, but don't have a picture. I think a member had one once.

I dont care for how the stock ones stick out from the body. I think the caddy ones would look cleaner.
These are the ones that I got:

Do you think that I could get a board in the lense? Do the plastic lenses come off the housings?

Lightbulb 72 sub Lichts

I have seen one with the stock lenses cut to lay flush with the body. looked slick plus a lot easier than a full on swap. 48suburban

Use the caddy tail light kit from Sir Michaels --- I have pic's of the whole process, let me know if you want them.

I have them at home. It took 2 of us 16 hrs each to rough it in, and another 24 hrs of body work to blend and get ready for paint.

Yeah I would like to see the progress pics. You can email me them if you dont feel like waiting for the 30 second post stuff.
jasons68@attbi.com

So far the Sir Michaels kit is the only one that looks the most complete. It looks like you kinda killed the body line. Did you? Do you think it would look that good on a suburban with barn doors?

Thanks for the info.

I don't think it killed the body line --- side profile wasn't changed and we sunk the light enough to minimize this issue.

How will it look with barn doors -- I'd play with PhotoShop and get an idea. I think anything's better than what it's got now

I'll post some more pic's of the process tonite

the caddy lights look good!I don't like the looks of barn doors because of the hinges sticking out, jmo. Also like the side markers. Are you keeping those wheels on?

Actually -- this is the wife's car, and she wants a comfortable / high ride ... so, for now, it'll keep the stock suspension and 17".

Future plans do include -- 20's, notching & air-bagging !!!!!

I plan to do about the same thing. Not sure if I want to lay frame just yet. I just want to be able to play with the bags and go up and down.

But for now just need to clean it up and get it to daily driver status. Its going to suck with the high gas prices around here.
