Stepside vs fleetside vs flatbed
What are the downsides and upsides to these three my fleetside is rusty and I think it might be time to try something new I like the looks of a stepside but hear they rust quicker and limit room. The fleetside is nice and would be good rhino lined and the flatbed I don't think would dent or rust as easily and be good for wheeling but the problem is first how much would it cost to get one made and second would it be possible to hold tools hi lift spare 35 inch tire, choker chain, tow strap, coolers, quad? thanks I would greatly appreciate your opinion and photos

Re: Stepside vs fleetside vs flatbed
A REALLY NICE loaded steel flatbed with toolboxes will set you back 2 grand. for that price they should mount it also

Re: Stepside vs fleetside vs flatbed
A flatbed would be the most configurable, and have the most floorspace of the three, but you'd have to make or have made some sides for it. Stepsides are only as wide as inside the wheelwells on a fleetside so you would lose the little bit of extra space, and not get the in bed tie downs from the stake pockets.

Re: Stepside vs fleetside vs flatbed
Personally i like the fleetsides better, which is why i converted my 4wd stepside to fleetside. I do like the stepsides if they are 2wd cuz i think stepsides with any tire bigger than 31 looks funny lol
