New truck!!!

I picked up a really clean '89 Chevy C3500 Crew Cab dually this morning. It's red (not so wild about that) and tan, and it's amazingly clean. That, and everything works. I bought it to put a short bed on and convert it to 1/2 ton suspension. My buddy Scott was nice enough to remind me that I really didn't want to repurchase my old '81 Trans Am, and that I was a truck guy anyhow. I have been wanting to build a CCSB for a couple of years, so now I get the chance. I know pics are important, but most of my stuff is packed for a few more weeks, until we move into our new house. I plan on driving it to work tomorrow, so I will take some there.

Re: New truck!!!

I'm excited for you dude. I looked at an 85 GMC High Sierra 4x4 this morning. Been sitting a while but it's an all original 73K farm truck that's been sitting in a barn. Steering and steering column needs work and the brake booster doesn't seem to be functioning but everything else was still in working order. I hope to be picking it up next weekend. Best of luck with it dude!

Re: New truck!!!

I have never owned one of these before. This truck is Massive!!!! (with a capital "M" even). I drove it in to work. I think it is going to be great with the short bed on it. It is a pretty cool truck now, though. The bugshield has already parted ways, and the sleeper will be next, once I find a back glass and gasket. It needs a little love, and some of that will have to wait until we are moved into our new house. I plan on pulling the carpet out and powerwashing it, and replacing the headliner soon too. When that is out, I will dye the trim around it so everything is the same color. Anyhow, here are the pics.

If you know how to get it home, I will cut you a heck of a deal on it. Same goes for a clean bed and fenders, too.

Re: New truck!!!

Thanks, Joe. Scott has a short bed parts truck that is going to give this one a completely new lease on life. I think it is going to be fun, for sure.
