hood
my dad just bought a 61. and the front of the hood has like four holes drilled in it. I know the older ones had like that jet plain thning up there, but i didnt think these years did. Anyone have some good pics of a hood of a 61? or know what these holes r for? thanks

the 61 trucks had what they called a cat eye hood. it looked like your dash.............it had something like a mesh screen in the area where the turn signals are..........sorry i don't have a picture.............most everyone didn't like that style of hood so they replaced it with a hood from the 64-66 trucks.................HEMMIT

Pphatbasstard,
The hood that Hemmit is talking about with the mesh screen is for GMC only. The 61 Chevrolet should have the wing design parklight bezel inserts. The jet planes did not come factory on these trucks. Some people put the jet planes on them for looks. So at some point down the road some one probably put one on it. 60 Apache |
