1967 chevy rock crawler
I was thinking about checking out this truck on craiglist. I wanted some other opinions from other board members. For the price do you think its worth it with the fenders cut or let it pass.

Re: 1967 chevy rock crawler
Not bad for a trail truck, I'm not crazy about how the bed was trimmed back, as far as the front fenders being trimmed, that's kinda typical for alot of these old trucks around here, except they were trimmed by rust LOL. If you want one to use and off road with, definately a good price. If you want one to fix up nice, well, how much do you want to spend on replacement panels? Also looks like the cab is tilted back a bit. But all that being said, I like it but then I'm kinda biased towards 67's and planning on converting mine to 4x4, I guess it calls too me!LOL

Re: 1967 chevy rock crawler
If you're looking for and want to use it for a trail rig, then check it out, IMO. Seems on the up and up, the price sounds fair if it is as described. Have a look for the condition of the body and if it has been built properly. Good luck.

It doesn't look like a bad deal. I was under the impression 327's only came as 2 bolt mains though. I'd check it out.

Re: 1967 chevy rock crawler
It's got 68 fenders.
The motor can be a 327 with a 4 bolt block, just a 350 converted to 327 stroke. The head chamber size sounds odd to me, but then I am no expert on early heads. If they are in fact that small of chambers, then with flat top pistons you're gonna be in the high end of a 10.xx compression ratio. As far as the frame flex comment? Well, if there hasn't been some crazy mods done to the suspension... I doubt it. All in all, it's a SWB 4x4 with a snappy motor that should be fun to run. Though "rock crawlers" tend to have lower gears than 4.11, just my opinion on that though but 4.11 will give you legs to run on the street. The price sounds good, if everything checks out.

Re: 1967 chevy rock crawler
This is nowhere near a rockcrawler as it sits,1/2 ton or light duty 3/4ton axles, high gearing, insufficient fender clearance and so on, but for the price and what condition it appears to be in, it's a very good trail rig with classic styling and a good base for a rockcrawler if that's something you want to do in the future, and the price is a steal in my eyes. Nice truck

Re: 1967 chevy rock crawler
Thanks for the help guys Im going to check it out today. Hoping there isnt to much rust on the cab, frame is straight and the suspension is built right. But if it checks out shes mine for the trails.
