HELP Master Cylinder Frame Install 56
I bought a master cylinder that mounts to the frame rail but uses the stock pedal and some of the mounting hardware. Unfortunately I had taken all that stuff off before I went down this road (doh). I need pictures of what a stock master looks like and a completed one as well. Pictures of any type would be appreciated and i can seem to find them on the site. I have the directions (for new install) and the original parts that have been removed (in a big pile with other frame junk) but I need a starting point.

Re: HELP Master Cylinder Frame Install 56
Here is what I did. In 85 I build a bracket to use a 74 truck dual MC with the 4wd axles. I wanted to use the stock pedal and mounting location. This time I added onto the bracket for a booster which moved the MC. In the second photo you can see the new bracket over the original. The shaft between the pedal and booster is made up of 1/2" EMT with nut welded on one end and 1/8" stock with hole welded into a slit on the other. This is based on TCI and others aftermarket kits but with heavier stock so you don't need the cross braces and the booster support matches the booste radius.

Re: HELP Master Cylinder Frame Install 56
I made this, more detail in my build thread at http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...&postcount=135
I set my seats up so the factory tilt forward will work for access under them. They are Yukon 3rd row seats.

Re: HELP Master Cylinder Frame Install 56
That's a good one, Brian. LMAO.....
I just installed that setup on my truck. They sell an access door that you weld in, or you could make your own like Orrie did, but if you keep the original seat Brian's method seems to be the only way. |

Re: HELP Master Cylinder Frame Install 56
There is a cast housing "thing" that is riveted to the frame in front of the cab mount next to the brake system bracket. It looks like it supports a shaft of some type. What is this for? Part of the brake system. The pictures above show it (barely) but do not show if there is any brake involvement.

Re: HELP Master Cylinder Frame Install 56
Here are a couple of shots I found. I am pretty sure that is the clutch pivot casting you are talking about.
