brake light switch - pict request
I have a 72 C10, the brake light switch seems to be jimmy-rigged into place. I was hoping someone has a pict of what it's supposed to look like above the foot pedal. Thanks guys

Re: brake light switch - pict request
This is the best pic I can get from my '68, taken from the left side of the steering column, looking up. Maybe you can make sense of this.

Re: brake light switch - pict request
It should have a plate with a hole in it to mount to. Put the threaded end through, put the nut on and adjust the 2 nuts to where the lights come on when brake depressed, go off when not.

Re: brake light switch - pict request
ok its the same it appears... But the only problem is my brake pedal. The part that physically hits the switch, seems to be gone... -.-

Re: brake light switch - pict request
Trying to figure this out...is there a way to tell the difference on what side the wires go on! I.e. a "+" on either prong?
Asking because I'm finishing up my painless harness install... Posted via Mobile Device

Re: brake light switch - pict request
does it matter what wire you hook up the ecm/tcm brake switch leads too? orange or white?

Re: brake light switch - pict request
No, does not matter which terminal each wire connects to - switch is just a circuit interrupter. Pressing the pedal lets the switch pop open and close the circuit to light the lights.
