I came across a set of stock 2010 Camaro calipers for $250 so I went ahead and got them. I'm not even sure if they'll work. If they will I'll need to so some fab work. Anyone got any ideas?

Getting the calipers to fit is easy....finding wheels that aren't from a 2010 Camaro to clear the calipers is going to be your bigger problem. The Camaro brakes need nearly as much caliper clearance as the Z06. Your best bet will be to try a 13" C4 96 Grandsport front rotor. These have a deeper center to help push the caliper back. I want Billet Specialties Bonnevilles on my 2010 SS so bad but they just don't have the needed clearance for the calipers.....

Could you use a smaller rotor diameter than what the Camaro had from the factory to gain more wheel clearance?

The problem isn't so much that they don't fit radially, (heck most guys with big brakes are going to run at least 20's) its the front of the calipers that are the problems. Take a 20" billet wheel, most have 7/8 caliper clearance. A C6 Z06 caliper has an over hang of 1.69", in other words, you would need nearly a 1" spacer to keep the wheels' spokes from hitting the caliper. Going to a smaller rotor would only help if you had one with a lot of offset. This why I suggested the c4 Grand Sport 13" rotor, more offset then a Camaro or c6 rotor. Here is a pic of a Z06 caliper and rotor on a truck drop spindle, notice how far the caliper hangs out passed the mounting flange of the wheel?

Here is a 13" C4 Vette Grand Sport rotor with C5 Calipers......No caliper clearance issues at all. If you could get me some dimensions on your Camaro calipers, I might be able to tell you if it would work in a similar fashion.

yes, did it on a customers truck last week. Here is a pic of the bracket mocked up with hardware grade bolts. The caliper mount needed to be milled off. I used an inexpensive and readily available mustang II hub with off the shelf bearing sets and seals.

This particular application, the customer already had wheels from another project that he wanted to use (5x4.75). The axles was redrilled for that pattern and the front didn't need anything done since the vette rotors were already 5x4.75 and the hubs come dual drilled 5x4.5 and 5x4.75. The 68 I did a few weeks ago already had 5x5 wheels so I had to change the pattern on the hubs and rotors to match. Haven't done much on the rears since Tobin @ Kore3 is already working on it. Hopefully it will be done soon. Sorry for the crappy pic.

Thanks. I recently called Tobin, and he is a really nice guy to talk with. For the rear with an E-brake he recommends swapping the axle flange to Ford big bearing ends, and having custom axles made.

Unfortunately that route is cost prohibitive unless you already have the need to build a rear axle. It would be more economical to run Wilwood rears as they have a 13" E-brake kit.

Thats actually what I've been doing on old Impalas and tri 5 Chevys. I could have sworn he told me he was working on a set up. Are all 63-72 Axle flange bolt patterns the same?

Do you think you can give me an idea of where to start? I have a guy that said he would make brackets for me, but he just informed me the other day it could be as late as July. What are my spindle options for this application?

To clarify this conversation was pertaining to running a 13" rear rotor with the internal E-brake on a truck 12 bolt. We both agree that the OEM calipers (Caddy or Lincoln) with built in E-brake are not that great, and the PBR calipers are much more effective.

As far as I know the flange pattern should be the same from 63 all the way to 77. The early housing were narrower and had an ear to accommodate the panhard bar but the flanges were the same.

yes but its only 13" if its the c6 Z06(or c6 grand sport) the c5 and regular c6 is 12" rotor

That is correct, both come in a few c hairs under those figures. The c5 and run-of-the mill c6 are a few hairs over 12"
