looking for specifics on 1968 moldings & interior
I have some questions I haven't found very definitive info on.
1 -rear trim. I know they didn't have the "full surround" taillight molding (just brows) but what about the lower tailgate molding? 2- lower side molding. When ordered with this, did it require the rear molding? What about windshield, rear window, and back of cab molding? Chrome vent windows? 3- armrests. '67 style? Or later style? Maybe had to do with steel vs. vinyl door panels? 4- headliner. Did they even offer it in '68? If so, did it use the specific cab roof as later years, or different trim with screws? Mine has a sunroof. I'd like to get rid of it if I decide to keep this truck. I'm not put off by the idea of having to weld a outer roof section back in, but I don't want to deal with the stamped inside panel. Some things I don't mind deviating from original on, but this stuff i'd like to look original. I'm on the fence about "keep it or sell it" right now. If I decide to keep it, I want these nitpicky things worked out! Thanks in advance for your help. Here's the truck as it looks now.

Re: looking for specifics on 1968 moldings & interior
I believe the lower tailgate trim was available in 68.
I think question 2 would have the CST or custom option that would include the bright stainless, but not sure how to break it down individaully. Pretty sure the armrests are 68-71 style. No headliner in 68 or even early 69. Hope this helps. Nice looking truck.

I'm pretty sure that no 1967-68s had the lower tailgate trim
I have three 1968s two are CST trucks one is not, the 2 CST trucks heve 68-71Arm Rests, front & rear window trim, vent window trim. But no lower gate trim, or head liner/trim. |

I guess the headliner thing is just something I'll have to live with that won't be quite right. Better than a sunroof. Kind of like the new takeoff tailgate I have been saving. It was pulled by a dealer who sold a truck new with a camper. It's in storage and I haven't looked at it for a long time, but I think it is a "large letter" gate. It has perfect molding on it too- except the bottom piece is missing... which sounds like I don't need anyway. What year did they go to the large letters?

It is about 2-1/2" higher than stock.
