Does anyone know if there is such a monster? Kinda like a stock FI vehicle intank pump deal with the sending unit and lines included.

I think I saw an article about doing that in a "Classic Trucks" mag. When I get a chance I'll look back through them and see if I can find it.

I converted a '76 stepside using one of the kits from TANKS.

Nice kit. The truck's owner is pleased too, and if you know Norm Grabowski he does not settle for junk.

A general comment about adding a non-stock, in-tank pump, pay attention to location or you might draw air before the fuel level is low.

I'll be using a TANKS kit in my '70 but not in the in-cab tank. The kit I used on the '76 required a fair amount of flat surface area on the top of the tank. They might have one that works with the in-cab tank but I wasn't looking for one.

I used on of their tanks in my '32. Good folks to deal with.

One large issue with an In-tank pump in the stock tank is that there are no baffles. At low gas level, the pump could starve in a tight corner. Keeping the tank above a 1/4 full will go a long way to fix this problem.

The Tanks kit included a "pan" that functions as a baffle. Placement is important to maximize its efficiency as the fuel level drops.

Keeping the level over 1/4 takes care of slosh issues.

The big benefit of keeping the level over 1/4 is the pump is kept cool by being submerged in fuel. My local Chevrolet dealer says this is a real issue with in-tank pumps.
