Diy carpet

At Lowes they have marine carpet that looks like it would be great for trucks plus be cheaper. But how would you mold it to fit so it would look right?

Re: Diy carpet

It's done with pre shaped mold fixtures and heat. Probably would be very hard to duplicate the shapes needed unless you are an expert. I tried it once many eons ago and it looked like pretty bad.

You would have to cut it and sew it together. Do-able if you are a carpet installer. Tough if you are not...

Re: Diy carpet

I've installed carpet for almost 40 years and don't think it would be worth the effort.

Re: Diy carpet

you could do it in sections, such as cut a strip for the drivers side passengers side and middle. it would still involve cutting to form it a little, my parents desided to take up the carpet in some areas of the house and i took some of that and cut it and put it in my truck, really cuts down on road noise and exhaust. might be kinda ghetto but hey it was free...
