Vent window rebuild question
I'm getting everything together to rebuild my vent windows, but I have a question. The glass channel on the window frames is really splayed, so I don't think I'll be happy with re-using them. However, the vent assembly itself is in really good condition. So, my question is: Is there any reason I can't use 68 - 72 window frames (just the glass itself, the metal frame around the glass, and the latch) with the '67 vent assemblies? Thanks!

Re: Vent window rebuild question
Was Just working on my vent windows and the only differences that I found was that some are painted or chromed. clear or tinted glass, and the kind of handle used. On 67 the handle is attached to the metal frame around the glass and 68 -72 the handle is thru a hole in the glass. As far as I can see all the individual parts are interchangeable except the handle. I see no problem with using a 67 glass with the 67 handle on any of the 68 -72 outer frame parts (note the rubber seal is the same on all the years)
You might find it a benefit to look at a (how to) on the this forum for the vent window http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=351471 I’m planning on putting together some additional tips on putting the vent window together on my next build post. Might want to check it out in a few days for the post

Re: Vent window rebuild question
Not to be a stick in the mud...
I rebuilt my wing vents, and the whole situation of them just sucked. Saved up, purchased a new pair and have been happy ever since. The rubber sold for these apps are not right, and to add insult to injury they are expensive. Add that with your time, and hassle is rebuilding these worth it? If you ask me? NO
