turn on headlights and gas gauge goes to zero

just did a motor swap and now when i turn my headlights on my gas gauge goes to zero and my dashlights are non-existant and my buzzer goes off.....anyone have a clue as to what i did or didnt do????

Sounds like a loose wire somewhere. Ground or something. Either that, or you're getting bad bad BAD gas mileage. Lol (Christine, relatives maybe?)

I would second the ground issue as you have a high resistance somewhere. You can still have good voltage but as son as you have current that voltage will drop quick with a high resistance connection such as a bad ground from the chassis to the cab.

yes its only the gas gauge.....ill go over the grounds as that seems to make sense thanks guys!

im looking at schematics right now....it seems that i must have something crossed as well .....i installed a new headunit and i hooked everything up prpoerly so i think....guess ill pull that out and take another look
