If it has a flat area on the bottom, then it is off of a 67 Camaro and it mounted to the console.

My son's Burb has one just like it and the flat part is mounted to the center of the roof. Apparently some dealers used the clock to install in vehicles that were not equipped with clocks from the factory.

Jim, It does have a flat spot (bracket) that would bolt it to something like a console. It was mounted to the floor hump in a Jimmy.
As far as for sale?? I wasnt planning on selling it. Any idea what it is worth???
Thanks

We had the clock upgraded to a quartz movement and the clock guy did not think that they were that unusual as he has done several. On the Burb mounting the flat spot is turned 180 degrees so that it mounts to the roof instead of the console as they were designed for. When it is in place it looks completely factory as the wiring is tucked into the windshield header.

As for value, I think the Camaro guys would value it the most, so you may want to check that out. I believe that you are still able to get the clocks from Classics Industries, PN 39801116 as a reproduction.

I believe that is a dealer installed optional floor hump clock for a 1972 GMC Jimmy...

Seriously, I have no idea. I have not seen that offered in the truck accesories books, but it does look like a GM option. Maybe one of the fullsize cars from the era?
I cant believe it cleaned up so well! Good work!

The clock would look good in a lot of vehicles!

Some have been installed in the trucks in the vacant spots. The mounting is very versitile.

RE: E-Bay clock

It appears to be the same clock as Joe has but it is definitely not a 66 or 67 SS Console clock. The SS Chevelles had the clock housing cast into the console and was not separate as the pictured clock.

Even if you bought the SS without a clock the casting would be the same as they put a blank in where the clock goes. The cast
opening for the clock is just ahead of the shifter on both years.

I've got that same clock in my 68 Camaro. Mine's never worked, but I looking to have it replaced with a quartz. I'm sure these are going for big bucks!

Joe, you asked about my 71 C10... the short story is this: It is a basically original Iowa farm truck. 307 AT PS and wood bed. Light olive green, which rates on my scale about the same place as ochre. It has just over 90k original miles, and very little rust but... The elderly gent that owned it before I did drove it about a year too long. Apparently, his eyesight was failing him, and he began having trouble judging doorways and fenceposts. He managed to wrinkle every panel of the whole truck before his family put an end to that. I used to use this truck as a daily driver, then it become my hauler truck. It is now doing nothing, except waiting to donate its suspension and brakes to my 69 shorty. Its a shame, but about the only savable sheetmetal from the truck is the cab itself, still wearing original rockers and paint.

Well, I wonder if it will take me another 2+ years to make my second hundred???

Chris
