Installing a disc kit
I've searched around looking for a step by step thread on installing a disc conversion, but can't seem to find anything. Am I missing something? Anybody have one saved somewhere? My Brother's kit didn't come with instructions.
I know it's pretty straight forward, but it's my first and I don't want to mess it up. Just wondering how this seal is supposed to go. Which way does the flange go and is it supposed to sit down flush with the spindle? Also, never packed a wheel bearing before, so any advice you can give is appreciated.

Re: Installing a disc kit
you have the seal correct but after you pack your bearing tap the seal into your rotor with the flange out it only fits one way into the rotor, and when you bolt your backing plate to your spindle it has a raised lip that the seal will set up against,as far as packing the bearing i usually wype some on my palm and push the bearing into it with the larger side down and keep pushing it into it until you see the grease come out of the top and around the sides, thats how i do it hope it helps.

Ah, thanks. That makes sense. However, I just realized my kit didn't come with a backing plate. Can I run without it?
