Fasteners for instrument bezel & glove box

I have a '62 Chevy C/10 that I'm trying to fix up.

I have looked for the below sheet metal fasteners at LMC, Ecklers, Bob's, etc.. but have been unable to locate. The one on the left, I found at the top of my glovebox. The one on the right, I found on the sides of the glove box (x4). -- Used to hold in the cardboard box. The one on the right is also used to fasten the instrument cluster bezel into the dash (x5)

I'm in need of one of each. Does anybody know where to buy these?

The one on the right your local NAPA will have. Captured body nut.

Ask in the parts for sale section as well.

Looks like J-nuts and/or flat nuts. They should be available at Lowe's and Home Depot. Crack that J-nut in half and you'll have a flat nut.

Re: Fasteners for instrument bezel & glove box

Thanks for the help. I found: #10 Panel Range:.025"-.125" Center 11/32" Spring Type U Nut at the link that aerotruck63 recommended. Never knew they were referred to as "U Nuts". I saw those flat nuts at Home depot -- I guess that'll work for the one on the left.

Thanks again guys -- this forum is really a big help!!

Re: Fasteners for instrument bezel & glove box

Thanks Andice, I didn't remember seeing "U Nuts" or "speed nuts" at Home Depot -- but that picture sure does look like mine. I'll have to look again. Being able to buy 1 or 2 locally instead of a box of 25 from the online fastener superstore will be faster and of course cheaper!
