Re: new guy from so-cal
Welcome aboard. 2 kids, 2 dogs, 4 doors - you"re good to go.
Just a suggestion, I would do the interior of your truck first, unless you are going to do a complete strip down to frame restore. The reason is that you will get almost immediate use of the upgraded interior in a relatively short period of time, and you don't have to worry about protecting your new paint job. If you search this site for interior threads, you will see that some members have done some nice interiors for not much $$$, while others have gone whole hog and mucho $$$. I would suggest later model seats instead of rebuilding your originals - actually cheaper in the long run and you get a much more comfortable seat - lots of 2000 and up Silverado/Sierra seats in the junkyards. I don't know how much money you plan to spend, but you would be surprised how nice repainted stock wheels and a stock set of hubcaps look - as an intermediate step. Might be a good old skool look even on a slammed truck. You can probably find stock hubcaps in the parts section here fairly cheap - new ones cost too much. Good luck. |

Re: new guy from so-cal
thanks for the welcome, i already went through some threads and MAN nice looking trucks you guys got here and very usefull info that i know will come in handy i do have one question though does any body know a good place to tune carbs i feel like mine could probably use a service to look at its a edelbrock 1904 Q-jet. and here's a list of mods the the motor currently has:
mild cam (dont know exact specs it was a handy down from my father that helped with the rebuild). other than that stock internals edelbrock c3bx intake manifold GM performance parts hi flo water pump, that my father polished chrome chevy valve covers, timing cover, alternator bracket chrome finned oil pand spal light weight fan and clutch delet spacer no A/C or heater and dual flow master mufflers with 3" piping (pretty loud but i like it) tucsonjwt: yes your absolutely right on that which i might do first |

Welcome dude. I dig the truck. I had a '77 C20 crew back when I was in school. Many fond memories. Enjoy it!
