Just changed top door hinges on show truck and what a pain

When i bought my 67 from the guy who restored it came with 2 new L&R top door hinges. The ones on the truck were rebuilt with new pins and bushings but the mechanism that held them open and kept them from opening all the way back to the fender were worn out.The hinges had a nylon strap on them to keep them from opening all the way back. The straps broke couple of times and i had to redo them.To keep door from destroying the fender i thought i would go ahead and replace them.I had a restorer to give me a price of $250 to replace them.I thought that was high but i found out it was not.I finally got through with them today and it was a pain.It probally took me about 10 hrs. to replace them. The aftermarket hinge on the left side likes 10" from opening as far as the old hinges did.I ended up taking the right door off twice to get the adjustment right.Body men really earn their money restoring old vehicles. Now i am going to tackle putting air conditioning in the truck.

Good luck with the A/C. You really don't see what some jobs actually take until you actually do it. Good job.
