Re: anyone have any pics of modifying the brake booster to mount w/out the bracket
Im working on this as we speak. But I dont have any final "done" results or any pics yet. All that needs to be done is to remove the bracket, punch out studs from the inside brake assembly that go throught the fire wall, drill new holes to match booster bolts, drill new holes in firewall to match booster studs and fab up the brake petal rod to the correct lenght and bolt all together...
I have done all this, and for some reason I didnt like it. Maybe cause my firewall is all smoothed and painted metallic silver and my brake booster was painted black and clear coated. The contrast wasnt doing it for me. Im gonna paint the booster silver and see how I like it. I did make short bracket that sits about 2" off the firewall with a tube like sleeve that goes between the booster and firewall and it looked pretty good. Im jumping back and forth between wiring and the brakes to keep my brain from turning into mush from all the wiring... I should have a completed brake setup by the end of the week.... |

well since my firewall is smooth and silver.... i would really like to see a pic of how yours looks , that would give me a great idea of what to expect, my factory bracket on my booster (it's a 7 inch booster) is about 5 inches thick

Here's a hydro boost setup from Yukon Jack in case someone is interested in this type of brake system:

heres a couple pics of the rod and under the dash. I drilled a new hole in the pedal so all the linkage would line up better, welded on a piece of all thread rod and attached a rod coup. you can see the factory holes in the bracket and the new ones i drilled through the firewall.
