How do I stop 700R Transmission from leaking at tail end

I have replaced the rear bearing and seals in my 700R Transmission, by the next weekend its again. could it be the wrong drive shaft yoke because there is a little play after installing new tail shaft bearing?

Mines the same way, drives me nuts having a leak like that. I'm at the point where I'm just going to wait and have it rebuilt once it starts slipping a bit more.

Pull the driveshaft out, and put a small piece of cardboard in the end of the yoke, small enough that it will stay in the end of the yoke. The tailshaft is leaking out of the hole in the output shaft. The cardboard will help stop the leak.

just wondering.... but is it over filled? is that why it leaks out of the output shaft? Whats the purpose of having a hole in the yoke?

Could this be your problem?

http://73-87.com/7387garage/drivetrain/yokeleak.htm

I had the same problem with my TH350C. I fixed it tempoaraily by cleaning the hole with brake cleaner, then using the tip of a screwdriver to dab some RTV on it. Later on, I bought the correct o-rings for it, and the problem, went away.

You can put axle grease on the splines to slow it down. If you close the hole it will cause the suction in the yoke and not allow it to move freely. The hole is there to vent the air between the output shaft and yoke.

Output shaft o-ring. Trans shop should have them laying around. About a 5 minute fix.

Sometimes they just don't seal. And you need to weld it shut.
