One of the coolest dashboards ever made. Sorry I haven't seen any pictures nor have I seen any personally on a 67-72, but I'm sure it would look cool!

Latest issue of Classic Trucks magazine came in the mail, today. The following truck is featured.....and, it has a dash you might like, too.

Re: pics of 59-60 impala dash in your c10

Relatively easy i thought.... moved it around three inches to the left to center up the steering coulum, and had to add 6" to the passenger side

Re: pics of 59-60 impala dash in your c10

What's weird about this idea, is that I remember when the '59's were new. I was younger, but I learned to drive on a '59 Ford, which I later drove to/from Biloxi, MS when I was in the USAF. Those cars seemed to be about 8-ft wide when you're driving them on roads back then, so it struck me as odd that they didn't have to cut the dash down, but widen it to fit into our trucks.

There's a guy near me who has a '68, that he put a '59 Edsel dash in. It's the same as a '59 Ford. Here's a pic. Oh, he had to widen it, too. Personally, I prefer the '59-60 Chevy dash, although the '57, and the 61-64 would look good. One issue with the cars that had the dog-leg design door openings (55-60), is the ends of the dashes protrude into the door area. It is part of the dash, so keeping it means you would have to cut it off, finish the edge and decide whether or not to incorporate it into the door panel sheet metal.

Looks nice, Alan. I've had 3 '65's, so they're near to my heart.

I was thinking about this 59-60 impala dash for my 65 truck
with the 60 impala steering wheel that I put in my 65 all ready.

The problem with the turned ends of dash in 67-72's is the dash mounts too high to catch the metal of door -about 3" of glass to top of dash --Look at the 55 dash in my project-Wanted to use ends but would be 3" to high!-Reason for widening is early Chevy's had real wide door jambs makin the dash seem longer--The 55 dash was only 48" after I took off curved ends.....jim
