Wheel Possibilities for 8 Lug trucks
I'd like a change from the steel rims on my C-20
What are some of the possibilities out there for 8 lug mags and rims? And what did you pay for them? and no.. I don't want to change to 5 lug Thanks in advance.. J.

Re: Wheel Possibilities for 8 Lug trucks
I love my 18" Moto Metals on my 05 2500. Paid 1500 for them with Terra Grapplers at a local shop in TN. If you pick up a 8Lug magazine or one of the Desiel tuner mags, they have tons of advertisements for wheels. Dont know what direction you are going but theres my 2 pennies.

Re: Wheel Possibilities for 8 Lug trucks
I have a liking of the 5 slot kidney bean rims..aluminum or steel.
Does anyone know if they make them in an 8 lug version? J.

Re: Wheel Possibilities for 8 Lug trucks
Yes,not Ansen. There's a company that now makes 8-luggers in 16" but I have the info on my old computer that's being fixed.Maybe someone can help with that sooner than whenever I get that thing back. They aren't cheap but no worse if not cheaper than most of the stuff out there these days.

Re: Wheel Possibilities for 8 Lug trucks
That's exactly what I want for my truck.
My step grandpa had a set on his 400 1970 GMC 3/4. He sold it without telling my dad, my dad was pissed, really pissed. |

Re: Wheel Possibilities for 8 Lug trucks
I stole some 16" American Racing wheels off an ebay listing a couple of years ago. $400 for wheels and brand new tires delivered.

Re: Wheel Possibilities for 8 Lug trucks
Keep an eye out on Craigslist. They're out there. It took me a year or so to find these, but I see them quite often lately, you just need to be creative with your search terms.
These came without lug nuts so I ended up getting some from AKH ^ If you find some without lug nuts on CL make sure to use that as a negotiating point, because 36 lug nuts are not cheap.

And thank you all for the input.. It's always been a toss up with me between Aluminum slotted, and the torq thrust rims.. But now with the additional lugs, it seems the choices are few..

Don't matter on the lug nuts part, I have a 5 gallon bucket full to the rim. I would really love to get a set of those. 8 lug obviously. |

Just keep an eye on CL, and use a wide array of search terms. I love the slots, but if I didn't already have these I would get something else because of the limited choices with tires in a 16.5 size. Just something to think about.

Re: Wheel Possibilities for 8 Lug trucks
Does anyone know if a 8 lug 15 inch rim will fit on these trucks. I have a brand new set of 15" tires in the garage that would look great on my C20.

I've collected the wheels that were made when these trucks were newer, including 8.25 & 9.75 steel OEM centers, aluminum slots, and finned aluminum. There were many styles of finned aluminum, also known as turbines,Hurricanes,Vectors...If you keep an eye out they come around and usually for reasonable money. To me,period correct wheels look best on a vehicle.

Re: Wheel Possibilities for 8 Lug trucks
Dennis, I almost bought a set of those "new" for my old F**d van in the 90's. I have seen a couple of used sets of those at Monroe. Are you looking?
