Re: WTB power steering box for 250 non integrated
Remember, all PS "boxes" are the same...nothing special about 6 cyl. '73-78 are quick ratio, which is nicer with the stock sized steering wheel.

Re: WTB power steering box for 250 non integrated
Will 73 and up fit in our trucks without modifications?

Yes, but always check everything twice+, when you are making changes. Be sure the pitman arm to tie rod is correct/the same.

Quote:
If you want to mount an integral steering gear to your 67 chassis you need to heat up the chassis where the steering gear mounts and dimple it to make room for the integral gear. Otherwise the ram assist power steering set up is what you will be looking to get. WES

Re: WTB power steering box for 250 non integrated
I recommend you stay away from that old ram system. There are more things to go wrong and it uses the manual box with too many turns lock-to-lock. You have trouble getting parts for it. Check to make sure, some late 67 frames had the indent for PS box.

Re: WTB power steering box for 250 non integrated
pre 76 boxes have a small spline on the steering rag joint 77 up has a larger spline there, it will bolt up to 67-72 ,but you need the 77-up joint to do so..
Also you have the lines..early are flared...later ones have o-rings..been there, done that several times.. |

Re: WTB power steering box for 250 non integrated
Just stay away from the late 70s boxes that use the o-rings. All of the earlier inverted flare type take our correct PS lines. If you are not comfortable with all of this early vs late boxes, just get 68-72, they are easier fit in our trucks.
