steering box interchange?
Can I use later model power steering box on a 69-70 GMC K10 that doesn't have power steering now?
Thanks

I believe they are the same but you may run iinto problems with the rag joint splines. Some had different slpines and were different sized shafts.

Thanks Mudder, would it work if I left on the rag joint from the later model box?

Any 73-87 PS box will bolt up. Just use the rag joint that comes with the box. Somewhere around 78 they have a smaller imput shaft (where rag joint goes).

Also, sometime in the early 80's they switched from flare fittings to o-ring fittings on the hoses. You will have to get a matching pump or change the rear fitting to match the box. (Or have custom hoses made)
