Need Muffler Sugestions for my trucks subsitute
I am driving my 1983 280zx na while I get my brakes figured out on the 70. I need a new muffler as it is about to fall off, the area where the hanger mounts to the can it is rusted out. I was hoping you guys could give me some advice on what would be a good replacement. I was thinking about something that would make the strait 6 cylinder sound a bit more throaty. The one that is on it now is 15" long and 6-1/2" round, it has 2" coming into the top of the can muffler and offseting to the bottom for the exit/tailpipe. I would like to get more sound but not have it be an annoying rice rocket sound.

I had a cavalier z24 and a excort zx2 (I know 4 cyl sound a little different) and I had oval magnaflows on both of them. I liked the sound, they were really deep and smooth with very little popping. When cruising you can tell there is a performance muffler but it's not loud, then you step on it and they liven up. Here is a link to the one I was running. I paid $165 after installation.

Huh, my Dad bought a new 1984 (I think) black turbo Z car back in the day.
I just remember the day my Dad got a letter in the mail from the factory, regarding a class action suit about the seats being sold as leather when in fact they were imitation... He was all kinds of pissed, but found later that the factory replaced all the seats with new ones free of charge. Talk about an expensive recall eh.. Cool cars.

On my 2.7 v6 intrepid I have a 10" resonator and a flow 40 out back. Its real smooth sounding but also very powerful sounding that you would expect from a 40 series. Also, inside is really nice, especially when you goose it, but not obnoxious.
