No replies on WIW. 70 C10 2wd LB 350/350

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Considering selling this 1970 C10 2wd longbed. It does have a good Hugger orange paint job on it. Of course as you can see in the pics it needs a good cleaning which I will do before it goes up for sale. Nice 15" wheels, tires are 80%. Dual exhaust, 4 wheel drum brakes, gray black interior, Grant steering wheel, rear step bumper. Custom made $500 convertible fabric tonneau cover. It has had some body work done about 10 years ago, some metal patching and body filler. It's not a perfectly rust free truck but looks very good. I don't remember the mileage at all. I will clean the hell out of it and correct the wiring issues under the hood and dash before it goes up for sale. Honest opinions?

So? It doesn't matter what was paid for the cover, it matters what the truck looks like as a package. Right now, its not very presentable. Like the others have mentioned, clean it up. Don't tell us, show us what it looks like cleaned up and we will give you a more accurate value.

Re: No replies on WIW. 70 C10 2wd LB 350/350

If you want to get as much as possible you will need to do some detailing. The wiring under the hood and hanging under the dash is a definite turn off. Buy a gas pedal - they are cheap. Clean up under the hood and wash and wax the truck. Without knowing how solid the truck is, it is hard to make a realistic suggestion. Do some research on what similar trucks in similar condition have brought. You can look on ebay completed listings, this site (if the ad is still up it has probably not sold for the asking price) and you can do a search of Craig's list on a nationwide basis. Obviously, it is worth more than has been suggested.

I agree, detail that thing up and fix a few items, it looks to be pretty rust free too, i would scout around for what other trucks are going for but i would venture to guess advertised as a rust free truck $2500 price tag should be easy to get, possibly more..

How do you do a search on Craiglist on a "nationwide basis"?

Re: No replies on WIW. 70 C10 2wd LB 350/350

might make a few more bucks by selling the cover and the truck separately (especially if you feel the cover is worth $500, or even close to it). The truck's nice - and I agree that a little detailing would pay back bigger dividends - but if you sell them together, you are only gonna get what it's all worth if someone really wants the tonneau AND the truck. but there's someone out there that would pay a sub-chunk for the tonneau alone for their existing truck - and someone out there that wants the truck and could care less for the tonneau. I'm just sayin. Either way, nice truck!

Here in Oregon it would go for $2500 and upwards to around $3500 with the way it sets. Indaina and salt eaten up trucks ,should be easy to get over $2500 I would think.

Get a new air filter! that wrinkly thing doesn't look very appealing. I think $2500 is very fair. Looks like a great driver or an excellent kickoff for a show car, really can't go wrong with something in that shape, so definitely, $2500 at least.

Edit: my 0.02 !

Re: No replies on WIW. 70 C10 2wd LB 350/350

Where are you getting $500 cover? Is that how much you paid for it, or how much you think it is now worth? The value of that cover is negligible at best as there are a lot of folks that don't like them (me included) and would likely take them off and then patch up the holes left by it.

I bought a truck in much worse shape recently for 2,000. Ditto on the dash wiring and under the hood squidness going on, if all that is cleaned up $3000 should be pretty easy.

Agreed, I am anal when it comes to the details. This is just the way it sets now. Tonneau cover is not old style where it's screwed into bed sides, it's the frame style that it snaps to. Details will be addressed before putting up for sale. Thanks guys!
