Just wondering about square bodies....
I didn't buy a Chevrolet because it was advanced, I bought it because it looks great (the body style) and that I just have a thing for Chevys...ever since I was a kid..anyway I have heard a lot here and at other places that the square bodies had a lot of new technology that definitely beat the competition...I was just wondering what that was exactly?
Thanks

Re: Just wondering about square bodies....
I was reading a brochure for the "new" 1973 body style and they were talking about the new "aerodynamic cab design" and something about computer engineering. Chevy did pioneer a lot of stuff for the truck market in square bodies though. I know they were the first pickup to be sold with a diesel in '78.

Re: Just wondering about square bodies....
They were first to sell a dually truck with a pickup bed, first to have PW and PDL, and I think they were first to offer a one-ton with four wheel drive.

Re: Just wondering about square bodies....
I question the 1 ton 4X4 first. I would of thought Dodge with their Power Wagons from way back would of covered that. But that's only a suspicion of mine. God Bless, Terry

Re: Just wondering about square bodies....
You may be correct, I'm not real sure of what a Power Wagon is supposed to be considered anyway. They kinda reminded me of a 1 1/2 ton truck.
