whats a good flip-kit to go with?
i wanna do a flip kit but im not really to sure what to go with like brand wise. whats the best and if you have had good luck with it or bad. thanks

Installed the djm flip kit yesterday and was pretty straight forward. Done it in the driveway in about 3 hours by myself with general hand tools

DJM McGaughy's Western Chassis All these make flip kits for your truck. I can't speak for Western chassis and McGaughy's, but my brother runs DJM and I use Belltech, Both are quality products. |

so like ive got an idea for it and which im thinkin about doin 2in drop spindles with drop shackles from a dually which is maybe gonna lower about 6in and also im gonna do bags in the front just to have a good suspension ride. has anyone ever done anything like that?
and im doin the bags in the front with manual instead of runnin comps. and that setup is free along with the shackles so basically i gotta get spindles and maybe a flip kit. so i just want to know what you guys think of that. or any ideas on it somethin? |

I think you should save your money and do it in stages. Start with 3" spindles rather than 2". For the rear do the flip kit. You can do it without a C-notch, but again I would do it right the first time. BTW- Check the application for the shackles you are considering. If your getting a set from a dually, they won't fit.
I would cut one coil from your stock front spring rather than running bags with no compressor. Thats fine for the rear, because you can ride with no air pressure if you get a leak. On the front, it means you are broke down till you get a portable air source.

I made my own with a lil help from a trailer supply, or in my case Tractor Supply store. I picked up an axle perch and re drilled the holes for the spring centering pin 1" off center. I plan on the install this week through next. Not that it should take that long but I am married with plenty of Honey Doos to do And favorable weather provided

Again, I suggest you check your application facts. I show that all C/30's have a 3" wide spring. and on top of that i would rathe do the 2in because of the bags in the front would drop it another 3inches Go with 2" if your prefer. Then later when you want it lower, or want it to ride better because you need to run more bag pressure you can change them to 3" and alot of its fabricating anyways and if they did get a leak it would just be low i wouldnt be broke down ive already covered that with my cousin. That depends on how your system is designed, what height of tires you are running, etc. Even if your system is set to roll when aired out, driving with it on the bumpstops is no fun. If your cousin has this covered, then maybe he needs to be on here answering your questions. i was just wonderin if anyone has ever done it before or seen anything like it. Yes, we have seen lots of low buck amateur installed systems. There are those that try to do it correctly while saving money, and there are those that end up with a cobbled up mess thats unsafe and unreliable. It's up to you to decide what category you want your truck to fall under but yea im gonna prob go ahead with the notch cause at some point im gonna bag the whole truck. That is assuming that you mean finding an economical way to build it safe and reliable.
