...from the pad on the block under the alternator " VD06568"

there was no vin stamped under it. From what I've read on engine sites this would seem to be a "crate" motor.

...this motor has a mechanical fuel pump and a chrome timing chain cover along with center bolt heads...it currently resides in this truck (which now is sporting a set of factory Rally Wheels and caps !).
