Ideas for engine dress-up
I pulled my 327 out of my 68 yesterday and have all of the components to rebuild it except for the "shinny" stuff. Anyone have pictures of there engines all dressed up? I plan to paint it chevrolet orange and have a edlebrock intake and carb. I plan to aluminum valve covers, new plug wires etc.
I am also trying to find wire looms for the spark plugs that will work with center bolt valve covers and stock "ram horn" manifolds. Any pics would be great Happy turkey day!!!!

Re: Ideas for engine dress-up
I personally like the looks of the spark plugs routed in the stock location. It gives the motor a clean look.

Re: Ideas for engine dress-up
Thanks guys.
I was not sure how to route them, I have the small looms that bolt on the back of the block, where do they go from there? Was there 2 small looms just above where the oil pan bolts to the block?

Did you use standard plug wires or did you use the type that you can cut to fit?

Re: Ideas for engine dress-up
I have been running "shiney stuff" for years. I had some leakage issue with the GM valve covers, until I got the right gaskets, but since then no problem. It all depends on what gaskets and sealer you use and just how cheapof shiney you purchase. If you get the really cheap stuff, it can be warped or pitted and cause leakage.

Re: Ideas for engine dress-up
that is what I was afraid of, I have been thinking about switching to headers but I just had new 2 1/2" exhaust installed so I hate to recut/fit the pipes.

Re: Ideas for engine dress-up
The wires in the picture aren't the ones I ended up using (they were too long). So I used them for my measurements, then I ordered from Kingsborne.
