transfercase lowering kit

Hey guys ,I was wondering if I even really need the transfercase lowing kit in my 82 k20, it has a 4in lift and I figured it wouldn't hurt ,the rear driveshaft is in a good position but the front shaft rear didn't benefit from it .that and I don't like the fact that my drive train is being held up by 4 aluminum blocks.I'm wondering if I should just take it out ?

I took mine off, prefered to take the crossmember down and get some cutting and welding done to it. but theres still lots of coments regarding it, some say its useless unless you have 6" or more of lift.

thats what i thought i just don't like it swinging in the breeze like that. i'll probley take it out.

I had 6" lift and just clearenced the stuff to make it work since it did not like that. At 4" should not need it. It is just a thing to cover up other issues from lifting a truck. If your yokes bind the clearence them so they don't. seems i had to take a little out of my cross member or something else when i added lift to my 79

I'm going to go against the grain here and say that it definitely helped my K5 with a 4" lift and 33s. I didn't have it lowered and noticed a slight vibration at about 40mph or so. I lowered the transfer case using the original extended spacers on it and the vibration stopped completely. First hand experience.
