Wink Help a kid out...

Hi everyone, it's been awhile since I was last on but I'm ready to get the addiction back Springs coming and with the fairly decent winter we're having (least in my area) I can only imagine the amount of mud I'm going to be graced with... I can't wait!!! Just installed a winch the other day and am getting psyched to take my date to the prom in the ol' 72 (not sure how she'll like the eight inches of lift in a dress but hey, it'll be worth it). Anyway, I've decided that my turd-cutter 33's just aint gonna do and I'm in search of some 36x12.50x15's... if anyone has a used set for cheap or knows someone who does, PLEASE let me know This is senior year and I've got half the school looking at me to not only bring 'em wheeling but to pull them out when they get suck... any help with this is very much appreciated, thanks.

I've seen some decent deals on eBay, but the shipping costs make some of those deals sour. I was looking for some used-but-good tires, but broke down and bought a set of new BGF 35x12.50x16.5 ATKOs. Made a big difference in the ride.

We gotta have a pic of your prom date climbing into your rig! It'd be priceless. You might want to have a step ladder handy if you want another date.

Well I don't have anything for ya but I thought I'd help ya out of where to look, if you didn't already think of these.

Coloradok5.com always has tires for sale and then check with the local tire dealers. They sometimes have used tires that they aquire that they sell for a reasonable price. That is how I bought my 31's for my 2 wheel drive, will be a little hard to find some 37's laying around though, lol. Get on the phone and call all over for 'em

Good luck!

Haha ... good times!!!!!!! Last year(junior year)... took the my girl to the prom ... in Black Beauty. Nuttin like takin her in that truck... 9 inches of lift and those 42's ..... haha priceless. Only thing better than that was that night..... Good luck with the tire search.... they shouldn't be really hard to find.... but I think you would be better off finding some 35's... you know with your time limit. I have a pair of 36's ... but they are for a 16.5 3/4 ton rim. sorry I was no help... and good luck with the date.

Thanks for the replies
Yeah, I've tried the local tire dealers but as you said, 36's are hard to find just laying around. I will make it point to check out coloradak5 though.
lol, don't worry, I'll have a camera ready
:p I have an old ladder from one of those jumbo trampolines handy if needed but I wanna see how far my date gets with no help... gonna have to pick the right girl for this one
Thanks again for the info and please, keep it coming.

RENT A LIMO!!

My senior prom was May 8, 1987. I picked her up in my 78 #0rd F150 4X4 with 4" lift and 36" mudders. I was holding on to a statement I wanted to make at the time, and continue today. If I were to do it all over again, I would have picked her up in a rented white limo.

You are far better off, having memories and pictures of her and the limo for the prom, then get the truck and Y'all go mudding with the rest of the boys after you showed here a classy eve.

Take the advice from someone who has been there ( got married to her in July 1988). When we got divorced in 1997, she through in my face that she had to go to HER senior prom in an old truck.

Just a side note. When your friends get stuck, jus slip off to a quiet place and show her what a country boy is made off (if you know what I mean).

Please bring protection, or you will end up spending the next 19 years of your life taking care of her and a kid she holds you hostage over, after she decides she wants to spread her wings and experience life away from you.

You're right, I'll just rent a limo... as long as it's riding on 36's I'm only known at my school for three things: one, I've played baseball all my life, two, I'm the truck man, and three, I'm a nice guy... I appreciate very much the advice on the limo and can see your point, but I'm also the kid who dreams about running those things over in the '72 Plus, a kid's father in my grade owns the limo rental place so EVERYONE gets a limo for cheap... I hate doing the expected and look forward to letting the 409 haul me to prom and back.

Hey 71blksuper, what lug are the wheels? You're probably right too, I think I'll have to settle for some 35's pretty soon.

Again, thanks for the comments everyone.

sorry dude.... but they are eight lug rally wheels. Good luck with the tires though.... you'll find some. And Hey.... not all girls like limo's over big trucks. Especially, if they are farm girls. I just got lucky and found a very classy farm girl... but got into the same stuff that I was interested in.

Unhappy

All right, I'm still looking for tires so if anyone's lookin' to sell, lemme know. I'm going with 71blksuper's advice too and will settle for some 35's since prom is next month... Would also take some 14.50" wide, don't have to be 12.50's. Thanks
